Face2Face Dorset – Time To Change

Phew! Anyone would think looking at this site that we’ve been off doing other things – but nothing would be further from the truth…

In 2013 we won an Awards for All grant to set up ZAP Arts – a weekly art group for people in the Poole area with experience of mental distress (although we have a couple of regular members from much further afield).  We work with Richmond Fellowship at their base in Eastgate Lodge in Poole Park, and have an exhibition coming up at the end of January 2015…

Again working with Richmond Fellowship we were awarded a Time to Change grant – part of the national campaign challenging the stigma around mental health in this country.  Together we planned and set up a year long programme of art workshops around Dorset, delivering 1000 ‘social contacts’ (conversations around the reality of mental health between a member of the public and one of our trained volunteers with personal experience).  We are well on our way to meet our target, and are currently looking for ways to keep the project going after funding ends in March 2015….

So –  sorry – not been much time to post on here! You can see something of these projects on www.face2face-dorset.co.uk, and there is a Facebook page maintained by project volunteers at www.facebook.com/face2facedorset
